THE FRONT PORCH partners with THE DIALOGUE INSTITUTE OF THE SOUTHWEST to provide and share a Ramadan-style dinner with our Islamic friends here at All Saints’ in Kinsolving Parish Hall. Much like our Easter Vigil, which sought to bring the gifts of Easter from the Christian tradition into a more postmodern and interfaith reception, this event will encourage Front Porchers to receive the powerful message of Ramadan: that faith in God yields community, forgiveness, and wholeness. Our first ever Ramadan dinner will feature traditional food provided by the Dialogue Institute, a short presentation about the significance of Ramadan to the Islamic tradition, and – of course, Front Porch style table fellowship and dialogue. Come hungry – or, if you’re really committed, join our Islamic partners in their daytime fast. Nobody will eat until the sun has set– just so there is no confusion there. Monday, June 4th (arrive by 7:30 p.m.) This should be a wonderful event for folks of all faiths to enjoy and celebrate. We hope you’ll be there!
