Austin Convocation Acolyte Festival (ACAF)
The Austin Convocation Acolyte Festival, hosted by All Saints’ Episcopal Church, brings
together acolytes from the parishes in the Austin Convocation for a day to celebrate the
ministry of acolytes, to learn and enhance acolyting skills, to build community among
Austin acolytes, and to have fun.

What happens at the Festival
· Festival Service: A special service to bless the ministry of acolytes featuring a
procession of all participating acolytes with their banners, flags, and holy hardware.
Training on various topics, i.e., serving at the altar, work of the thurifer, Acolyte
Jeopardy, BCP Scavenger Hunt, and Episcopal life at college. Training is geared to
specific age groups.
· Acolyte Olympics: Games that draw on acolyting skills and agility.

· Attend: Materials are emailed to parishes in January of each year. If you are
