MUSIC AT ALL SAINTS'
The music tradition at All Saints' Parish is a rich one. Two choirs enhance the liturgy on Sunday mornings: the Quin Choir at 9:00 a.m., which is open to all ages (yes, children and youth!), and the All Saints' Choir at 11:15 a.m., which is adults. These choirs rehearse weekly and sing throughout the year except for a break in the summer. They also happen to be genuinely fun groups of people!
Our parish is blessed with a bevy of superb instrumentalists who grace the liturgy from time to time as well with their gifts. This is a remarkable place, filled with creativity, and always giving thanks to the One who makes such artistry a reality. Music is that language which sometimes, somehow, can give people a glimpse of the Almighty in ways that no other medium can. What a joyous privilege to be part of it.
Many special music events round out the All Saints' calendar: the Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols, a major work for Choir and Orchestra each year, services throughout Holy Week, Christmas Eve, Choral Evensongs, and more.
If you feel a tug towards any of the above, or are simply curious, contact Nancy Reiser at 476-3589, ext. 118 or nancy@allsaints-austin.org
Bless, O Lord, us thy servants who minister in thy temple; Grant that what we sing with our lips we may believe in our hearts, and what we believe in our hearts we may show forth in our lives. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
