The All Saints’ Acolyte program functions as a component of our youth ministry along with Sunday School and the EYC. Acolyting presents a visible and tangible way that the youth serve the parish as well as a way that they participate in stewardship by offering their time and talent.
The acolyte program at All Saint’s is philosophically part of our youth ministry. Acolytes rotate among four acolyte roles and among our two Sunday services. Acolytes, thus, have an opportunity to serve as Crucifer/Altar Server, Gospel Server, Gospel Torch, and Epistle Torch, as well as participate in Rite I and Rite II services. With this approach, we seek to instill in the youth that all roles at the altar are important and that serving your parish when it needs you represents true service.
We do just-in-time on-the-job training. New acolytes review and rehearse their roles 20-30 minutes before their Sunday morning service, focusing on what to do and how to serve with the appropriate decorum and posture.
Acolyte Sponsors support the acolyte program (1) by ensuring teams are ready before services and (2) by assisting with acolyte training. Additionally sponsors facilitate rapport and communication with other groups who serve at the altar.Sponsors get on-the-job training also so no previous acolyting experience is necessary.
Fundraisers are held periodically to subsidize some costs of the trip to the National Acolyte Festival. We take advantage of our location by offering the church parking lot for the UT home football games asking for freewill donations.
We welcome all parishioners to become involved with the Acolyte ministry, especially youth of acolyting age (11+ years old) and their parents. We are ready to help you serve in this ministry.

DAUGHTERS OF THE KING, ST. CATHERINE’S CHAPTER return to top
Founded in 1885, the Daughters of the King is an order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church and, in recent years, has included women in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) and the Roman Catholic Church. The Daughters of the King continues to grow, with more than 23,000 members and chapters on every continent. Its mission is the extension of Christ’s Kingdom through prayer and service.
St. Catherine’s Chapter at All Saints’ has 40 members who comprise two groups, one that meets on the second Wednesday of the month and the other on the second Sunday of the month from September through May.
The Wednesday group begins each meeting with Eucharist followed by a program of study or a service project. The group participates in Bible studies, devotional programs, and service projects such as assembling school supply packets for Iraqi children, and providing Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gifts for a families referred by El Buen Samaritano.
The Sunday group meets after the 11:15 a.m. service and then participates in a book study with members facilitating discussion on a rotating basis. This group also sponsors an El Buen Samaritano family for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Both groups pray for the concerns of All Saints’ parishioners that are communicated through the blue cards placed in the alms basins during church services and also those submitted to individual Daughters. They also compile confidential prayer lists at the monthly meetings. Prayer is our most important service.
Women interested in joining the Daughters of the King should contact the church office.

The annual craft bazaar takes place in the fall, which includes the All Saints’ La Petit Café. (Food items, meals are auctioned off to raise funds for ECW.) Several service projects are also taken on by the ECW.

LECTORS & CHALICE BEARERS CORPS return to top
Lectors and Chalice Bearers are specially trained and licensed members of the congregation whose main purpose is to assist clergy in the liturgy of the church. These members typically serve at the 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning services and at the 5:30 p.m. service on Sunday evening. Lectors are responsible for preparing for, and reading, the scripture lessons and leading the reading of the psalms at the various church services when the psalm is not sung. They also assist clergy by bearing chalice (serving the congregation the wine) during the Eucharist at the Sunday services and any other special services at which the Eucharist is celebrated. The Chalice Bearers generally lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People during the Rite I and Rite II services. Depending upon the particular service at which the Lectors and Chalice Bearers participate, they may be functioning as acolytes and crucifers as well. Lectors and Chalice Bearers may also be called upon to assist clergy during weddings and funerals.

PASTORAL CARE – LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS return to top
Lay Eucharistic Visitation continues to bless our homebound and hospitalized brothers and sisters. Lay Eucharistic Visitors are persons who take the Holy Eucharist to shut-ins or others who are unable to be present for Sunday worship. This is a ministry both necessary and extremely rewarding. Our practice has been to call on individual Eucharistic Visitors once every month or six weeks. Right now we have more people who are in need of this ministry than we have L.E.V.’s. If you would like to share in this ministry, please let Phil Nazro know. He will then set up a training class and get you aboard .

BOOK GROUP return to top
The Book Group meets once a month on the third Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. with one person leading the discussion and one bringing the refreshments. Books are chosen by consensus and cover a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction, sometimes an old favorite and sometimes a book on the current bestseller list, but we try to choose one that is readily available at the library and the used bookstore. Everyone reads the book, so the discussions are usually lively. We always welcome new members and new voices.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE return to top
The Stewardship Committee focuses on helping all parishioners to have a greater notion of what stewardship is and what it means to be a (good) steward of all that has been given to us by God. In addition they develop and carry out the Every Member Pledge Canvas Campaign each year.

ST. FRANCIS GARDEN GUILD return to top
The Saint Francis Garden Guild welcomes any person regardless of age or gender who is willing to give time and effort to help maintain the grounds of All Saints’. While the Church budget allows for basic lawn maintenance, the Garden Guild sustains the grounds beyond what the budget allows. The ECW provides the “seed” money but the guild also relies on donations and memorials to supplement expenses. Regardless of the task at hand, be it planting flowers, pulling weeds, trimming trees or spreading mulch, there is never a shortage of work to be done or fellowship to be had. Weather permitting the group meets the second Saturday of every month around 9:00 a.m. and works for few hours. We hope you’ll come join us!

GRACE MINISTRY return to top
Mission Statement: Extending God's love through presence,
listening, and spiritual support.
Grace Ministry is a lay pastoral care program intended to provide parishioners with a supportive, caring presence during difficult times. Not meant to replace the pastoral care of the clergy, Grace Ministry will be an extension of pastoral care and an integral piece of the community of caring in All Saints' Church. Grace Ministers will be available to meet with fellow parishioners and provide a one to one, confidential, empathetic listening presence, with an intentional, spiritual component. "Grace is love in action," wrote Dr. Gerald May and it is the intent of Grace Ministry to be a vehicle for sharing God's love with parishioners. Many circumstances might prompt a request for a Grace Partner. They range from joyful occasions, such as welcoming a new child into the household, to sorrowful ones, such as death of a spouse. In addition, Grace Partners may be of help when a parishioner wants to talk about spiritual issues.
Grace Ministers are not counselors, however, they have had extensive training in empathetic listening, spiritual practice, community resources, the grief process and a myriad of other topics and participate in ongoing continuing education at their meetings. Other caregiving ministries, outreach as well as inreach, such as Saints On Call, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and Loaves & Fishes, are also invited to attend these presentations as appropriate for their missions.
Grace Ministry is completely confidential. If you are interested in either participating in this parish ministry, or visiting with a Grace Minister
