Design Charrette Report & Executive Summary
Dear Saints,
Partners for Sacred Places DesignCharetteReport has been completed. For your convenience, committee members have also created a DCExecutiveSummary.
Your Vestry engaged Partners for Sacred Places to conduct a 1.5-day Design Charrette on September 19-20, 2024. Adult Forum on Sunday, Sept. 22 featured drawings from the Charrette and a recap of the event shared by Matt Davis (2022 Senior Warden) and others including current Senior Warden Joey Etheredge. This was followed by the Sept. 29 presentation by Jay Ferrell on the Architecture of Gregg House and its mid-century architects Fehr & Granger.
To further place this project in context, the Design Charrette followed the Asset-Mapping Community Event (Dec. 2023) and a capital campaign feasibility study (July 2024). The study revealed that of those surveyed and interviewed, 92% responded: yes, now is the right time for a capital campaign.
The purpose of the Design Charrette was to generate broad, conceptual designs to begin to inform and support our capital campaign planning. It also provided the opportunity to work with and learn from local design professionals without any commitments beyond the scope of the charrette.
The drawings developed from our Charrette are initial, conceptual, and intended to spark discussion within the parish. They do not indicate design decisions or cost estimates.
The Design Charrette is another step in the process toward the exciting goal of a renovated Gregg House. Click on the links above or obtain a hard-copy of the Design Charrette Report and/or Executive Summary in the church office. Please see your Vestry members or me with your thoughts and questions.
Keep All Saints' in your prayers as we seek to pursue the vibrant future God intends for generations of saints in this holy place.
Yours in Christ,
Genevieve Razim+
