New Logo Created from Shapes in our Sacred Space
Design motifs from The Rt. Rev. George Herbert Kinsolving's chair, the ironwork outer circle of the GHK monogram on the crypt door, and the cross carved on the end of every pew come together to create All Saints' new logo. See the objects and the outline of those shapes in the photos below. Our new logo evokes our history and dynamism as a Spirit-inspired, community-engaged parish.
Our new visual identity rolls out this weekend (March 17) and in the weeks ahead. We are also transitioning to the domain name: saintsofaustin.org for our website and email addresses. Please be patient with us as we work through this process.
George was the second Bishop of Texas and in the 1890s, he and his wife Grace bought the city block at 27th & Whitis and built a women's dormitory, Grace Hall. In 1900, the cornerstone was laid for the chapel to accompany it. That chapel is our present day church. Our new color palette honors our founders: "Kinsolving purple" (darker value) and "Grace purple" (lighter value).
In December 2023, an ad-hoc committee of the Vestry including Rich Ketcham, Michelle Carlson, Jane Schotz, Lauren Thompson, and The Rev. Genevieve Razim began working with Robin Piazza of Walder Studios on this project. The new visual identity was presented to the Vestry at the February 2024 meeting. In response, one Vestry member replied, "A quantum leap forward!"
