The Rev. Genevieve Razim Called to Serve as Rector of All Saints'
All Saints’ Day, 2021
All Saints’ Vestry and Rector Search Committee are thrilled to announce that a call has been extended to and accepted by The Reverend Genevieve Razim to join our community as All Saints’ 15th Rector. Rev. Razim displays an exciting passion for the Gospel and for the mission of All Saints’ Church. We are excited to begin a new era with her.
“It is a tremendous joy to accept your call, All Saints’! You have a rich heritage and a strong commitment to the community. I look forward to being on this holy adventure with you,” said Rev. Razim.
Rev. Razim (pronounced “Rah-zeem”) comes to us from St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson, Texas where she has been serving as Interim Rector since early 2020. Prior to this, she served as Canon for Welcome & Evangelism at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston; Associate Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church, The Woodlands; and Associate Rector at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Houston. Before attending seminary at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Rev. Razim was a Senior Designer with The Richards Group in Dallas and the Graphic Designer at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Rev. Razim currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Seminary of the Southwest. Her previous service to the wider Episcopal Church includes two terms on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Texas and two terms on the Board of Directors of Episcopal Relief & Development.
Rev. Razim is a lifelong Episcopalian and her mother, The Rev. Sharon Turner, is also an Episcopal priest (retired). She is known for raising up leaders and is recognized for her productivity, creativity, and innovation.Throughout the search process, her scriptural and theological grounding was clear, as in Romans 8:39 Nothing can separate you from the love of God in Jesus Christ, and our baptismal call to serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being. You can read her blog here.
Rev. Razim and her husband Ed, a tax attorney, have been married for 27 years and have two adult sons. They enjoy cooking, entertaining, and riding their bicycles. They are looking forward to exploring Austin’s hike and bike trails!
Rev. Razim will join us in the new year, her first day in the office will be Monday, January 10th. Her first Sunday will be January 16th. We are excited to start this new chapter of All Saints’ life and look forward to starting 2022 with our new Rector!
